November offers a bit of calm before the holiday storm. But queers still have a few reasons to cheer, including a sun-baked Pride in the Coachella Valley, a South Florida circuit party, and marquee fests happening abroad. Here are the top annual LGBTQ events happening in November—even if you do decide to wait until 2022.

Buenos Aires Gay Pride

How come you haven’t been to Buenos Aires yet? Argentina’s sizzling capital is as beautiful as you’ve heard, including leafy nabes like Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood, colorful La Boca (where the Tango originated) and historic San Telmo where you’ll think you’re walking the streets of an old European city. Buenos Aires Gay Pride happens November 6 this year, and has come a long way. Its first march happened as recently as 1992 and only attracted 250 people (many of whom were masked). Circuit Miami

Looking for a reason to be thankful? How about a weekend of EDM, dazzling light displays, and shirtless dudes bumping and grinding in sun-drenched South Florida? Circuit Miami happens Thanksgiving weekend (Nov 25–29) and includes five days of nonstop parties. As of writing, the event is still scheduled to happen, but bookmark this one for 2022 just in case.

Feast Festival: Adelaide

Famous for Kangaroo Island, Barossa Valley wine country, and pie floaters (meat pie dunked in pea soup and topped with tomato sauce), sunny South Australia often gets overlooked. But we happen to like charming Adelaide and Feast Festival, a three-week celebration of queer culture, provides as a good a reason as any to visit. Past events have included the Picnic in the Park and after party, drag performances, live comedy and theater, wellness workshops, a film festival, sporting events, and more. Bring your cossies (that’s Aussie speak for swimsuits), beaches in the region are top notch.

Hong Kong Pride Parade

Mulling over a visit to China’s skyscraper-filled harbor city? You may want to wait until November 2022 when Hong Kong Pride coincides with Gay Games 11, an international LGBTQ sporting event and the first of its kind to happen in Asia! But if you’re Hong Kong bound this fall, its annual parade happens November 13 and attracts upwards of 12,000 spectators.

Key West Bear Weekend

The bears are back in town! Well, not quite. Key West Bear Weekend, happening annually every November, has been postponed until 2022, so save the date on this one for next year. Growl-worthy events include Greet the Meat Happy Hour, Bear Soup Pool Party, Bear Ass Tea Party (we’re not making any of this up!), and much more. Most events revolve around the city’s two queer guesthouses: Island House and Equator Resort.

Mr. International Rubber Weekend: Chicago

Apparently autumn in the Windy City calls for falling leaves, pumpkin-spiced lattes, and dressing in latex! This year’s 25th Mr. International Rubber Weekend offers the TV-theme “Rubber Vision” and will include in-person educational classes, cocktail parties, a fashion show, play parties, kinky shopping and demos, group meet-ups, and of course the Mr. International Rubber contest.

Mystiko Tulum

In recent years, this Riviera Maya beach town has catapulted into the spotlight thanks to its laid-back, hippie-chic vibe. But don’t expect low energy at this four-day queer party, featuring nonstop tribal beats spread out over numerous beachfront and jungle locations and featuring 7 parties and nearly two dozen 20 DJs. Palm Springs Pride

Chilly nighttime temps descend upon the Coachella Valley in winter, which is why Palm Springs Pride (November 1–7) always feels like one last sun-soaked fling. Although this year may look a little different (Palm Springs bars, restaurants and some hotels are now requiring either proof of vaccination upon entry or a recent Covid test), the 35th annual event will nevertheless move forward with a parade, festival, vendor marketplace, hate crime vigil, champagne brunch, 5K run/walk, and more. Of course, there are also desert hikes, outlet mall shopping, bar hopping and poolside hangouts.
